Shanghai, December 3, 2019. Volkswagen Group China along with partners FAW-Volkswagen, SAIC VOLKSWAGEN, Volkswagen Finance (China) and Volkswagen Automatic Transmission has been awarded Top Employer 2020 award at the Top Employer Institute 2020 awards ceremony in Shanghai. The award comes following the Group’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a sustainable working environment, employee welfare and development. Over 100,000 employees work for the Group in China.

Receiving the award, Mr. Jens Pfitzinger, Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Orga. & ITP Volkswagen Group China, said “We are proud to be not only China’s number one automotive choice, but also a top option for talents across the country. We take considerable measures to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of our workforce, and care greatly about creating a healthy, sustainable and prosperous working environment.”

He continued, “Our move of over 2,300 employees to the new V-Space office location in Beijing has kick-started our new way of working together in China. Dynamic areas have replaced closed meeting rooms, resulting in more open idea sharing, more speed and less hierarchy. Our employees are free to use in-house facilities like the gym and medical center, encouraging them to live a balanced, healthy and convenient lifestyle.”

Volkswagen Group China invests strongly in its workforce development. Aside from various additional benefits for employees such as pensions or car purchasing, the company plans for the required skills of the future, helps employees to gain international work experience and nurtures an open, community atmosphere culture in the work environment. Furthermore, the international exchange initiative allows employees exposure to multinational work spaces within Volkswagen’s global network.
